With such interest currently being shown in innovative techniques for oilseed rape establishment, Great Plains will also be presenting the observations and results of a series of trials in which it has been involved over recent years – both in the UK and across Europe.
These efforts are continuing, with a wide range of trial plots being established this last autumn with four different commercial partners in the UK, and with a range of other companies and research organisations in a number of key export markets across the continent.
At the event, Simon Revell, Exports Director for Western Europe, will be available to brief visitors on the findings of trials staged all over Europe:
“The core aim of these trials remains designing establishment systems that offer reliable yields, while keeping costs as low as possible. But they are broadening out, and are now covering issues like placement of fertiliser, band-sowing and the use of inter-row cover crops.
“Any farmer who is interested in this subject should keep in touch with us, as this work is on-going and we will always have fresh results, and advice to offer based on it”.
