Great Plains, a major manufacturer of tillage, seeding and planting equipment selling into markets throughout Europe and world-wide, has announced the appointment of Alexander Geffers to the role of Territory Manager for Germany.
Aged 33, married with one child and based near Hanover, Alexander has developed extensive experience over the past nine years in the sales and distribution of both new and used agricultural equipment including leading brands such as Claas, Lemken, Amazone and Fendt.
Over a period of some five years in his previous employment, Alexander also worked directly with farmers and has acquired substantial knowledge of farms and farming practices throughout North and North East Germany including the large agricultural regions of Lower Saxony and Mecklenburg Vorpommern.
Commenting on his appointment, Alexander said: “I am thrilled to be joining Great Plains at what is an exciting time for the company. With key dealers in place, Great Plains has already established a strong foothold in Northern and Central Germany. I am looking forward to working closely with our existing dealers and my colleagues at Great Plains to further increase our penetration in this important market and I am relishing the challenge.”
Simon Revell, Export Director for Great Plains, is delighted to welcome Alexander on board. “Alexander will, I am sure, prove to be a huge asset in our drive to grow sales and increase our market share in Germany. He will, of course, have the full support and backing of the rest of the Great Plains team including our product support specialists in Germany, Christoph Mueller and Daniel Rakers,” he said.
“Together with our dealers and the wide range of 3-metre transport machines we can offer for tillage, seeding and planting operations, we have all the necessary resources to exploit the huge potential that exists in the German market for Great Plains technologies such as one-pass crop establishment and Twin-Row planting,” he concluded.
