Great Plains put on a show of strength for French farmers and dealers at Innov-Agri, which was held in September at Outarville, 62 miles south of Paris. Visited by some 80,000 people, a remarkable attendance given that harvest was still ongoing in many areas of the country, this 3-day event is one of the most important outdoor shows in the French agricultural calendar.

Products showcased on the Great Plains stand included the 3P100NT drill, Spartan 607 and the Yield-Pro YPE825A in twin-row configuration, along with the Mounted X-Press, Trailed X-Press, DTX with small seeding kit, the SL400, the UniPress and a prototype of the new Centurion 4m grain and fertiliser drill.

In addition, the Centurion 600 cultivator drill, the FCN080 Field Cultivator and the SLD 300 were all put through their paces on the demonstration plots.

There was great interest from farmers and dealers, not just in Great Plains products, but also the company’s agronomy-driven approach, as David Holmes, Sales Director for France, explains: “We took a high level of enquiries throughout the show, especially for the no-till drills, the Centurion and the X-Press models.

“The feedback we had was excellent. Farmers and journalists told us that we were one of very few, if not the only cultivation equipment manufacturer to focus on the importance of good soil structure and crop establishment practice. Many visitors to the stand were also impressed by the size and the scope of our product range,” he added.
