Staff and customers of Schlieper Agriservice, our dealer covering an area of Eastern Germany, got a full briefing on Great Plains, its current model ranges and trial work when they visited the Sleaford factory.
Schlieper, based at Sonnewalde, some 50 miles South of Berlin, is a major John Deere dealer, and serves a region in which soils vary widely.
Josef Schlüter, Machinery Sales Manager, sees great potential for Great Plains in the region:
“We have a very broad range of customers and have done many demonstrations with Great Plains machines. Many of our farmers have a large amount of manure to dispose of, so we expect significant interest in machines like the SLD and SL, which have proven ability to handle large volumes of trash and material, and produce a seed-bed in one pass.
“Our staff and customers have been very impressed with what they have seen at Sleaford, and we hope the farmers will chat to their friends about what they have seen”.
The oilseed rape establishment methods currently being trialled by Great Plains – including on four separate sites across Germany – will also be of interest to the company’s customers, he says.
