Staff of distributor Oakes Bros Ltd will have a full programme of on-farm working demonstrations this autumn, reports James Kissock, Great Plains Territory Manager, after a successful open day at its Micheldever branch.
And visiting farmers showed real interest in the agronomic presentations that Great Plains has staged at shows like LAMMA and Cereals, he reports:
“I spent a lot of time discussing the themes we have covered on show-stands. Harvest has not really started yet and farmers are just holding back to see what their fields look like before they make choices on which cultivation techniques to use this autumn.
Restructuring damaged soils is a key topic this autumn, with many people keen to discuss which design of deeper working leg and wing to use.
“As well as receiving a lot of interest in our full range of cultivators, we also received several demonstration requests for the Centurion drill which is very encouraging”.
