James McNair has been appointed Managing Director for Great Plains UK. He succeeds Colin Adams, who resigned the position he has held since 2010. Throughout his years with Simba International, Colin held increasingly more responsible positions and provided leadership as the company grew. He contributed well to the integration of Great Plains and Simba, bringing years of product and management experience to the process. We wish him well in his future endeavours.
James joined Great Plains International in 2012 as the International Controller to bring structure to the company as it has grown exponentially in the last ten years. In this role he assisted Daniel Rauchholz, President of Great Plains International, with the management of Great Plains subsidiaries: Great Plains UK, Great Plains East Europe, Great Plains Ukraine, and Great Plains Russia. Prior to working at Great Plains, James McNair served in senior management positions with Bayer Corporation’s North American Animal Health and Crop Protection divisions for 24 years.
James has been instrumental in forging a growth strategy for Western Europe. Under his leadership, Great Plains expanded its sales and service staff in Denmark, Germany, France and China. The growth strategy has included an extensive investment in the UK operations and facilities which has seen the number of employees increase by 60% since being acquired by Great Plains Manufacturing.
“By taking on the role of Managing Director of Great Plains UK, James will relocate to be based at the Great Plains UK headquarters at Sleaford in Lincolnshire. This will enable him to steer company initiatives in UK and Europe more effectively simply by being able to address issues in real time”, says Daniel Rauchholz. “His appointment and relocation signals our intent to grow both in the UK and abroad.”
